Our long-standing client’s century home sits on a property full of character, and following a recent carriage house renovation, they came to us ready to add a pool and reimagine the space for family gatherings. The site posed a significant grade challenge at the back of the property, which we addressed by building a series of tiered stone walls from regional boulders. This approach created flat ground for the pool area while preserving the rugged feel of the surroundings. The pool itself sits at the heart of the space, framed by paver decking with plenty of room for lounging or hosting larger groups. Just beyond, a flagstone patio with a sunken fire pit offers a quieter setting for evening conversations around the flames. The custom cabana adds shelter and storage with an architectural style that complements the home, while native plantings of lavender, daylilies, and ornamental grasses soften the stonework and tie the new spaces into the existing landscape.
